“I was introduced to Northstar Regional in February of 2018 while I was serving a sentence in the Carver County jail for a DWI offense. I was completely broken as a man, and had no other options. I went directly from the jail to Northstar’s inpatient facility. After completing 30 days in inpatient, I transitioned to their intensive outpatient program with lodging. I was introduced to some amazing counselors and therapists that worked with me daily to dissect my life and my addiction. Upon graduation from that program, I continued my individual therapy sessions and moved into a sober house in Chaska and participated in Northstar’s once a week transition program.
I now live in my own residence, I have a successful career, I have my children back in my life, I’m in an amazing and healthy relationship and I’ve gained back the trust of my family.
All it took from me was a willingness to change any, and all aspects and thought processes of my life. Addiction is about a lot more than substance abuse, and with the help of Northstar I’m NOT just sober, I’m living a healthy life of recovery.
