External Resources and Links
For information only, NorthStar Regional lists outside organizations here, from Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon to NAMI, SAMHSA, and NIDA. We have no contract or business ties with any resource listed, and nothing here is professional advice or a recommendation. The links cover peer support fellowships, family groups, national mental health and addiction institutes, and condition-specific associations. They are useful for background reading, for a family member looking for a meeting, or for a question outside what we treat. For help with treatment itself, our admissions team is the right door.

How Admission Works
How Admissions Works: Two Steps
However you got here, you are in the right place.
1
Step One: You Call
We listen to what you are struggling with, what you need, and where you want to go. Then we walk through your options and find the right starting point for you. From day one, we also help with insurance enrollment, financial assistance, clothing, and essentials.
2
Step Two: We Pick You Up
An admissions coordinator stays on the line while a carefully vetted driver, most often someone in long-term recovery, picks you up anywhere in the Twin Cities metro. In the vehicle there is water, electrolytes, and a meal on the way, because arriving cared for matters.
Already waiting for you
What NorthStar Regional Provides
Bedding and a made bed, campus dining with three meals a day, toiletries and hygiene basics, laundry access, and clothing basics if you arrive without them. The structure comes furnished too: a full daily schedule, a counselor, a mental health professional on campus, gyms, outdoor space, and evenings with real life in them.
You will complete your comprehensive assessment, and from there you will have your plan, your team, and your daily routine. What you packed will not matter. Here is how the rest of admissions works, and one call starts all of it.
