Women's campus, downtown Chaska
Women's Treatment Center in Chaska, Minnesota
NorthStar Regional’s women’s treatment center near Minneapolis is a campus of your own: fully separate, in downtown Chaska, with 24-hour staffing. The closest men’s building is over a mile away, so nobody performs recovery for an audience. Sixteen beds hold a small community, with the Klein Mansion next door for the step down to outpatient care. Trauma and depression that ride with substance use are treated from day one by a women-focused team. We accept Medical Assistance (Medicaid) and most major insurers, and since parenting does not pause, we help coordinate children’s visits.

Location overview
Women's Residential Treatment in Chaska: What Life Here Is Like
Women here live and work in a community of women doing the same brave thing, with a team dedicated to women’s recovery: licensed alcohol and drug counselors, a mental health professional assigned to the campus, and staff on site 24 hours a day. Groups, meals, and evenings happen together, and the separation from men’s programming is complete, so nobody has to perform recovery for an audience. It is the closest thing to a home that treatment can be.
Many women arrive as mothers. Parenting does not pause for treatment, so our team helps coordinate family contact, children’s visits where appropriate, and the practical supports that let a mother focus on getting well. Minnesota also prioritizes treatment placement for pregnant women, and admissions will explain what that means for timing. We get to know each woman’s situation on the first call, with no judgment about the risk it took to make it.

Before and after
The Rest of the Continuum
Detox happens at our withdrawal management center in Eden Prairie first when withdrawal symptoms need medical management; afterward, outpatient addiction services, relapse prevention, and a sober housing pathway carry long term recovery forward.
The clinical work
Individual Therapy, Group Counseling, and Mental Health Care for Substance Use
The week runs on evidence-based practices: individual therapy with licensed alcohol and drug counselors, group counseling with women who understand without explanation, mental health therapy for the trauma and depression underneath, and medication management through our medical partner when it helps. Skills groups add the tools women actually use to cope after discharge: relapse prevention, emotional regulation, employment counseling and job readiness, and anger and boundary work where it fits each woman’s personal plan.
Spirituality stays open here: peer support meetings run on campus, none are required, and your higher power is yours to define. From a brief intervention to a full residential stay, every level of care serves the same goal, long term sobriety and the well being to enjoy the life it makes possible.

Our Team
Meet the People Behind Your Care
The people guiding your care carry more than 80 combined years in this field, and some of them found their own way up through treatment. They have seen everything and judge none of it. Most of all, they do what they say they will do, and they care about your recovery.
How Admission Works
How Admissions Works: Two Steps
However you got here, you are in the right place.
1
Step One: You Call
We listen to what you are struggling with, what you need, and where you want to go. Then we walk through your options and find the right starting point for you. From day one, we also help with insurance enrollment, financial assistance, clothing, and essentials.
2
Step Two: We Pick You Up
An admissions coordinator stays on the line while a carefully vetted driver, most often someone in long-term recovery, picks you up anywhere in the Twin Cities metro. In the vehicle there is water, electrolytes, and a meal on the way, because arriving cared for matters.

What is a women's recovery center?
A treatment facility built entirely around how addiction shows up in women’s lives: separate from men’s programming, trauma-aware, and staffed by a team dedicated to women’s recovery. Ours is a fully separate campus; the closest men’s building is more than a mile away.
What programs run at this location?
Women’s co-occurring residential treatment (16 beds, 24-hour staffing) and women’s IOP with lodging at the Klein Mansion next door. Detox and other levels of care run at our nearby campuses in the same system.
Can my children stay with me during treatment?
Our residential program doesn’t house children on campus, and we know that’s the hardest part of saying yes. Admissions will talk through family contact, visits, and timing, so you can make the decision with real information.
Do you treat mental health conditions too?
Yes. Trauma, depression, anxiety, and other co-occurring mental health disorders are treated in the same plan as the substance use, by the same team, with psychiatric support through our medical partner.
Who pays for treatment?
Usually insurance: Medicaid covers the large majority of our clients, most major plans are in network, and Minnesota’s Behavioral Health Fund exists for women with no coverage. We verify everything on the first call.
