Robert MacInnes received his doctorate in counseling psychology from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in 2021, after completing his master’s degree in clinical psychology in 2013. He has worked and trained in a range of settings, including co-occurring treatment centers, a university counseling center, and several community mental health organizations.
His dissertation, completed in 2021, developed a program to address burnout in healthcare among nurses and medical residents, and it was the first psychology dissertation in its field to use a formal program development protocol adapted from public health as its methodology. That systems eye travels with him into the counseling room.
